ABSTRACT

The objective of the study is to predict the spatial structure and B‐cell epitopes of Mycoplasma suis ORF5 pro‐tein .The secondary structure ,hydrophilicity ,flexible region ,antigenic index and surface probability were analyzed and predic‐ted by the Protean module in DNAStar software and B Cell Epitope Prediction Tools of IDEB ,then B‐cell epitopes were predic‐ted by aggregate analysis .Results showed that the secondary structure of Mycoplasma suis ORF5 protein was relatively regu‐lar ,in which the potential B cell antigenic epitopes were located at GGVDGGRD ,GMRLPEDSR ,and EGHPDLESAR .The methods of prediction of the secondary structure and B‐cell epitopes of Mycoplasma suis ORF5 protein may provide a new method for the study of M .suis immunogenicity ,and provides a new idea for the study on immunogenicity of pathogenic micro‐organisms .

ABSTRACT

The changes in the levels of IFN-γ and IL-4 in peripheral blood of mice infected with Mycoplasma suis were investigated in the present study, in which BALB/c mice were infected with Mycoplasma suis and the levels of IFN-γ and IL-4 in peripheral blood of mice were determined by means of ELISA assay 3, 5 and 7 days after infection. The results showed that the lower level of IFN-γ and higher level of IL-4 could be demonstrated 3 and 5 days after infection in comparison with those of the control groups respectively(P0.05) . It is evident from this result that determination of the levels of IFN-γ and IL-4 in peripheral blood of mice may constitute an additional sero-diagnostic index to infection with M.suis and provide the experimental data for the studies in the serology and immunology of this infection.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To compare the influence of nickel-chromium alloy and gold-platinum alloy porcelain-fused-to-metal ( PFM ) on ultramicrostructure of canine gingival tissues, to survey the biological effects after PFM full crown restoration, and to provide data for selection of PFM materials. Methods; The nickel-chromium alloy and gold-platinum alloy PFM full crowns were used to repair canines in 3 healthy dogs. The microstructure of canine gingival tissue was observed through light microscope and transmission electron microscope. Apoptosis of canine gingival cells was detected by TUNEL method. Results; Under light microscope, inflammatory cell infiltration and partial bleeding were seen in the nickel-chromium alloy PFM full crown repaired canine gingival tissues. Under transmission electron microscope, large amount of cell apoptosis and neuclear condensation were observed in these tissues, and apoptotic index was 58.63% ±11. 12%. While under light microscope, inflammatory cell infiltration and partial bleeding were not seen in the gold-platinum metal PFM full crown repaired canine gingival tissues. Under transmission electron microscope, only small amount of cell apoptosis was detected in these tissues, and apoptotic index was 26. 90% ± 17. 35%. Statistical significance was found in both nickel-chromium alloy group and gold-platinum metal group compared to control group. There was also statistical significance between nickel-chromium alloy group and gold-platinum metal group in cell apoptosis numbers (P <0. 05). Cell apoptosis number in nickel-chromium alloy group was much higher than that in gold-platinum metal group. Conclusion; The negtive effects on ultramicrostructure of gingival tissue using nickel-chromium alloy PFM are more evident than using gold-platinum metal. When select PFM to repair defect teeth, it is better to select the inactive gold-platinum metal PFM as base crown.

ABSTRACT

Based on the current situation of teaching for laboratory animal science and taking the teaching practice of the teaching and research section of lab animal science in Liaoning Medical University as a case.,a series of teaching reforms were performed such as teaching content, teaching measures and examination manners, and the teaching reform effects were evaluated, which aimed at establishing the foundation of an consummate teaching pattern for laboratory animal science.

ABSTRACT

Bone regeneration and repair after avascular necrosis of the femoral head are a complex process involving interactions of numerous kinds of cells. In the past decade when more and more cytokines have been identified and characterized, basic and clinical researches have found the efficacy of various cytokines in healing avascular necrosis of the femoral head. This article summarizes findings about some cytokines associated with treatment of avascular necrosis of the femoral head in order to deepen our understanding. The article also discusses the functions, current problems and future applications of cytokines in this field.
